This position primarily supports the college’s PeopleSoft/Oracle ERP systems and related infrastructure. Incumbents must be knowledgeable in supporting the systems outlined below.
Specific skills necessary for this position include:
• Oracle Database Administration
o Upgrading, installing and patching Oracle database
o Backing up and recovering databases using rman and Cloud Control
o Optimizing performance of Oracle
o Writing and understanding SQL statements
o Troubleshooting technical issues
o Providing guidance and recommendations for query optimizations
• PeopleSoft application administration
• Installing and configuring PeopleSoft environments, including but not limited to:
o Human Resources
o Financial
o Student Administration
o PeopleTools
• Linux Virtual Server administration and maintenance
• BEA WebLogic
• Installing and configuring
• Performance monitoring
• Troubleshooting
• Backing up and recovering systems
• Disaster recovery support
This is the fourth of six levels in the Information Technology series. Incumbents coordinate and implement the maintenance, use and enhancement of software or hardware systems critical to the operation of the College. Responsibilities may include analyzing system capabilities and implementing process and procedure changes to better utilize software or hardware; coordinating with software vendors regarding software support and system enhancements; coordinating projects involving the implementation of new software or hardware, or system changes; and training end users.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or commensurate experience
Experience:
Must require 1 year of experience in Oracle Server database administration. Experience must include extensive hands-on work with Linux server operating systems. Experience in bash scripting or other scripting languages. Experience in Windows Server operating systems. Experience may also include PeopleSoft Administration, WebLogic Server and Tuxedo app server. Oracle Cloud experience a plus.
Experience in Linux virtual server administration including, patch application and system upgrades. Working knowledge of backup and recovery of file systems and databases.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.
