Assists the Dean at the campus level, plans and directs a specific department, discipline, and/or program(s).
Typical Essential Duties:
The classification is responsible for performing professional and/or program management duties in academic related specialties in a single department or function. Incumbents will manage the daily activities, develop plans to approach projects, implement solutions, and perform professional level work in assigned area. Incumbents are responsible for supervising employees or student workers, and developing and monitoring a budget.
Requirements:
Education:
Master's degree or applicable college degree in related academic discipline. Doctorate degree a plus in a related field to assigned area, plus specialized courses in the field. Must be able to be credentialed in one of the areas he/she supervises.
Experience:
Teaching experience preferred. Related work experience preferred for technical programs. Three (3) years in teaching field at higher education level.
