Data Analyst [ID: 1041]
Position Summary:

Under limited supervision, this position works independently to perform a range of professional data analysis duties in connection with the college's Workforce Education functions. Exercises considerable initiative, independent judgment, and discretion. Provides specialized support for existing & future program analytics, scorecards and trends for credit and non-credit Workforce Programs. The Analyst provides support by assembling and organizing data to provide actionable insights in support of the objectives of the department. A key responsibility for the Analyst will be the creation and presentation of data in meaningful formats for specific audiences.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Provide reporting, analysis, visualization, and presentation support to the Dean of Workforce Development through data analysis, validation, visualization, & research methods.
  • Design and develop complex analytical reports.
  • Support the College through assessment of Workforce-related data and development of standard and ad hoc reports, metrics and scorecard for credit and non-credit programs.
  • Track trends provide detailed analytics for program review, improvement plans, and identify key credit and non-credit programs.
  • Researches, analyzes, writes, and/or edits institutional surveys and reports.
  • Reviews data input and output reporting for accuracy; and to support data integrity.
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare reports from data obtained from EMSI and FETPIP for new program development, program reviews, and related grant and resource initiatives.
  • Provide data relating to writing, and/or editing state reports in relation to all baccalaureate programs including notice of intent, proposal, and accountability reports submitted to the Florida Department of Education and substantive change report submitted to the SACSCOC.
  • Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools and help maintain data integrity.
  • Publish and distribute workforce reports; i.e., Economic Overview, Regional Employment, Program Enrollment, Industry Certification, Education Attainment, and Program Gap Analysis.
  • Identify and define key performance indicators to help measure and monitor workforce development effectiveness and the impact of initiatives and programs.
  • Summarizes and translates report data into organized and useable/actionable content to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Develops and delivers meaningful presentations for specific stakeholders.
  • Responsible for non-credit program state reporting process in partnership with the institution’s State Reporting Coordinator.

The classification is responsible for directing the activities of an assigned academic related department or program. Incumbents will develop strategies to accomplish goals, implement policies and procedures, and develop and monitor an assigned budget. Incumbents may need to perform professional level work within assignment and will supervise employees or student workers.

Compensation: $59,309.68 - $74,137.10

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution or an Associate degree with 6 years' experience in analytical research is required.*

Experience:

Three (3) years of experience in data analysis and reporting. Experience in the creation and presentation of data in meaningful formats.*

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Provides oversight and directs the implementation of activities and operations for an assigned academic department or program, which includes: planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, student retention, strategic planning, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; implementing overall policy changes; ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; and coordinating and integrating activities between multiple service areas.
