Project Coordinator II - Titans Pathway to Achievement [ID: 1052]
Position Summary:

The Titans Pathway to Achievement Coordinator will support student success, retention and progression to graduation; provide individualized student services to students who have foster care and homeless backgrounds; connect students to relevant campus resources; monitor and track progress of students; maintain communication with faculty and staff in support of the students; coordinate workshops and students group activities (i.e., field trips, support groups, lunch and learns, etc.)  The Titans Pathway to Achievement Coordinator will also be a liaison with the Tampa Bay Community Base Care agencies (Independent Living / Case Management Staff) as well as the Foster Care Liaison from the Pinellas County School Board. 

Incumbents in this class focus on coordinating professional-level support services to students (local, out-of-state, international) and prospective students in single areas or across a number of disciplines that may include admissions, financial aid, academic advising, career services, study abroad, honors college, and disability services. In addition to providing student support services, incumbents are responsible for developing internal and external partnerships to enhance services; conducting program assessment and evaluation to ensure effective delivery of services; making referrals for resources to assist in the students' career and educational success; and serving as a liaison between high schools, students, employers, and the college.  Incumbents in this class perform professional-level student support activities and may have formal supervisory responsibility for program staff.

Compensation: $46,978.82 - $58,723.53

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred in counseling, psychology, human services, student affairs or social work.

Experience:

Two (2) years of related work experience.

Knowledge:

  • Experience with the local CBC/Dependency/Child Welfare System;
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with greater Tampa Bay resources and social welfare support; 
  • Knowledge of the College’s policies, procedures and regulations;
  • Knowledge of student development and resources to promote student success;
  • Previous experience working with at underserved/underrepresented populations;
  • Counseling/advising skills;
  • Strong leadership skills.;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Ability to relate effectively with students, institutional personnel, and the public;
  • Ability to identify students’ needs in order to make the appropriate referrals;

  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Coordinates department functions and/or services which may include implementing new initiatives to address student needs; managing admission, registration and graduation process; developing, monitoring and refining outcome metrics.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Meets regularly and as needed with individual students to assess their educational, life skills, and socio-emotional needs;
  • Refers and connects students with relevant resources; Housing, Counseling Services, Accessibility Services Center, Financial Aid, and Career Services etc.;
  • Monitors and records progress of individual students; maintaining consistent and confidential records of individual student data;
  • Serves as an advocate for students with college processes and services, as needed;
  • Prepares students for graduation, post-graduate plans and career advising;
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff interested in researching issues focused in both populations.;
  • Coordinates workshops and student activities;
  • Participates in community outreach activities.
