FL Statewide College Coordinator [ID: 1056]
Position Summary:

The Institute of Strategic Policy Solutions, ("ISPS") seeks a Florida Civic Engagement and Statewide College Coordinator to engage the 28 colleges in the Florida System and collaborate with key civic partners across the state. The skillset required is as follows:

Leadership & Management:  

  • Oversee and recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals 
  • Develop, maintain, recruit, and support a strong statewide Florida Civic Partnerships
  • Seek and build involvement from our Florida College System partners. 
  • Actively engage and energize Florida College System Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs, Deans and Student Life and Leadership Coordinators  
  • Lead, coach, develop and nurture Florida State Civic Partnerships.  

Partnerships

  • Work with the ISPS Executive Director and Board to set target strategic partnerships.
  • Develop collaborative proposals to engage and lead the state on social, political and economic programs
  • Work to develop sponsors for Florida College System and Statewide programs

Communications

  • Maintain regular communications with State leaders and Florida College System leads
  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger statewide ISPS brand 
  • Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities  

Planning

  • Periodically update the ISPS Executive Director and Board of Directors on progress in pursuing goals and objectives aligned with the ISPS strategic plans.

The classification is responsible for coordinating the operations and activities of an assigned academic program or area and may supervise lower level administrative or program support staff.  This class is responsible for scheduling classes, trainings, or related events; coordinating the staff, and the use of resources for determined; coordinating internal and external relationships and partnerships; implementing project plans and providing project status updates and reviews; researching and analyzing information or other related data to improve the services or operations of the program; and may be responsible for monitoring a budget.

Compensation: $59,309.68 - $74,137.10

Bachelor's degree

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking,grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Advises students, faculty, and staff on a variety of issues related to assigned academic programmatic area; evaluates students and/or applicants to determine program progress, program adherence, and/or other related issues; and maintains related student files.

Coordinates the implementation and evaluation of program goals, objectives, activities, and strategic initiatives; assesses consequences and outcomes of program initiatives.

Develops and maintains internal and external relationships; participates in/on a variety of meetings, committees, task forces, and/or other related groups to communicate information regarding services, programs, areas of opportunity, and/or other information; represents assigned academic area on committees, advocacy groups, and/or other related groups.

Provides information to students, parents, school liaisons, and/or other applicable individuals regarding available courses, programs, registration processes, and/or other related areas.

May supervise staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
