EMS Program Support Coordinator [ID: 153]
Position Summary:

Assists EMT and Paramedic students to achieve their EMS clinical objectives at clinical sites, field agencies and college laboratories. Assists EMS program with contractual arrangements for clinical and field internship affiliations and equipment service agreements. Monitors and enforces compliance requirements in conjunction with affiliation agreements. Coordinates and manages EMS student’s clinical schedules. Manages and maintains supplies, equipment and EMS vehicles. Acts as program simulation coordinator.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Assists EMT and Paramedic students on a group basis, in a laboratory or with clinical site visits;
  • Controls, coordinates and maintains laboratory and media equipment to meet instructional requirements Utilizes audiovisuals, periodicals, manikins, BLS/ALS equipment, etc.;
  • Sets up and monitors laboratory areas for clinical laboratory assignments;
  • Assists students in practicing skills;
  • Relieves professional faculty in classroom as needed;
  • Assists professional faculty in program administration and learning materials such as tutoring, testing;
  • Liaison between Provost, Program Directors/Deans, and the college legal department in regards to clinical affiliation and service agreements;
  • Construct and maintain a method for tracking affiliation and service agreements that includes, but is not limited to key personnel at contractual party, addresses, phone and fax numbers;
  • Track affiliation agreements sent by College legal department to the outside contractual party;
  • Contact key staffers at contractual party in a timely manner to ascertain difficulties that may be causing concern(s) and delaying response;
  • Facilitate timely return of affiliation agreements involving changes in order to further the College’s legal department’s review, acceptance or proposed further changes;
  • Plans and coordinates clinical schedule for EMS students with clinical sites;
  • Loads and maintains clinical schedule in the FISDAP program;
  • Coordinates and facilitates changes to clinical schedule with clinical sites;
  • Communicates and Liaisons with clinical site to ensure compliance with clinical site policies and procedures;
  • Monitors and enforces compliance with clinical site requirements for EMS students and instructors;
  • Maintains and manages the FISDAP program for EMS students and instructors;
  • Monitors and manages the EMS Field Preceptorship Program;
  • Manages accounting and submission of EMS Preceptor Tuition Exemption Program;
  • Maintains and updates current status of approved EMS Field Internship Preceptors;
  • Maintains and manages supplies, equipment and vehicles for the EMS program;
  • Coordinates obtaining quotes for purchasing of supplies and equipment;
  • Coordinates and schedules routine maintenance and repairs of equipment;
  • Coordinates and facilitates the management, training and utilization of medium and high fidelity simulators;
  • Supports and provides instructor support for open campus courses (i.e. CPR, ITLS, etc.);
  • Prepares and provides routine reports to EMS Advisory Committee, Pinellas County Master Rotation Committee and various clinical sites or field organizations;
  • Participates in various organizations and events to promote the EMS Program;
  • Develops and monitors program and/or project plans;
  • Implements and monitors compliance with approved policies, procedures and processes;
  • Performs related duties as required.

The classification is responsible for coordinating the operations and activities of an assigned academic program or area and may supervise lower level administrative or program support staff.  This class is responsible for scheduling classes, trainings, or related events; coordinating the staff, and the use of resources for determined; coordinating internal and external relationships and partnerships; implementing project plans and providing project status updates and reviews; researching and analyzing information or other related data to improve the services or operations of the program; and may be responsible for monitoring a budget.

Compensation: $59,309.68 - $74,137.10

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Associate’s degree in EMS required. Florida Paramedic certification required. CPR, ACLS, PHTLS Provider/Instructor required. EPC Provider/Instructor preferred. Florida Level A Instructor Course or NAEMSE Level I Instructor course required.

Experience:

Five (5) years of experience in pre-hospital clinical practice as a paramedic required. Two (2) years of academic experience as EMT/Paramedic Instructor. One (1) year of experience in contract negotiation. Management experience is desired. Experience/certification in healthcare simulation preferred.

One (1) year of progressively responsible experience in area assigned.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking,grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
