Curriculum Services Coordinator [ID: 154]
Position Summary:

Administers, coordinates, facilitates, and ensures the quality and accuracy of all curriculum development and approval processes, as well as maintains course and program information in various college data systems.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Facilitates the movement of course and program proposals through the curriculum development and approval process;
  • Provides training on curriculum tools, process and procedures to faculty, program administrators, and others;
  • Recommends changes to the curriculum process to make it more effective and responsive to the needs of the college community;
  • Collects and tracks identified curriculum process and service metrics;
  • Provides curriculum related reports to various stakeholders;
  • Supports Curriculum & Instruction Committee ( C & I) meetings and updates the Curriculum & Instruction Manual annually;
  • Ensures curriculum related portions of the college catalog are current and accurate;
  • Maintains and tests all course and program information within various college data systems;
  • Facilitates the revision and maintenance of program advising templates in PeopleSoft;
  • Maintains the Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) and program lengths for all college credit programs;
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues within curriculum services;
  • Serves as the liaison between the college and the Florida Statewide Course Numbering System (SCNS);
  • Maintains SPC’s program listings on Florida's Academic Counseling and Tracking for Students online system (FACTS.org);
  • Oversees curriculum services budget and planning activities;
  • Serves on various college committees.

 

This is the third of five levels in the Institutional Effectiveness series. Incumbents coordinate an assigned College's strategic planning and assessment process and the state reporting function.  Responsibilities may include developing and maintaining a comprehensive system to compile, manage, evaluate, and report data associated with College goals, and institutional initiatives; managing data systems for state reporting; reviewing and approving state reports; and performing the duties of the lower levels.  Incumbents may supervise lower level institutional research staff.

Compensation: $49,409.85 - $69,173.79

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field to assigned area required and Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

Three (3) years of experience in a related environment that relies on technology, specifically the use of student information data base systems (Peoplesoft experience desired). Prior experience in student affairs and/or with curriculum related processes is desired. Supervisory and project management experience highly desired. Experience working with senior college administrators is desired.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Extracts, manipulates, and processes data utilizing a variety of resources; performs complex statistical computations and analyses, aligning the analyses with the strategic objectives of the College; and provides advice on implications of results.

Manages the data system for state reporting; reviews and approves a variety of reports related to strategic planning, which includes gathering and assembling a variety of data; and prepares and submits reports addressing external reporting requirements.

Confers with faculty and administration to determine issues and needs related to research and assessment. Implements and analyzes research studies which include administering and coordinating responses to surveys.

May supervise staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
