Responsible for assessing SPC's current non-credit language and culture programs applicable to the Language Institute, collaborating with area businesses to determine language education needs, proposing additional offerings not currently offered at SPC, and marketing materials to gain student interest and increase program enrollment.
Typical Essential Duties
This is the second of three levels in the Academic Program series. The classification is responsible for overseeing an academic program or area and may supervise lower level administrative or program support staff. This class may determine staffing, scheduling, and the use of resources; developing internal and external relationships and partnerships; developing project plans and providing project status updates and evaluations; planning, conducting, and analyzing research/information; and may be responsible for developing and monitoring budget.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Language, Linguistics or in a related field to assigned area.
Experience:
One (1) year of progressively responsible experience in area assigned. Prefer 3-5 years experience in: working with people of various language skills; living and/or working abroad, or extensive traveling abroad; community relations and foreign language teaching.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.
