Student Support Services TRIO Coordinator [ID: 169]
Position Summary:

Responsible for the overall implementation and management of the Student Support Services Program.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Identifies and provides students who are Student Support Services eligible, information concerning the opportunities available, the requirements for eligibility for enrollment, specific courses, special services, and employment and placement opportunities available;
  • Assists in the identification and development of supplementary services, adaptation of equipment, remedial courses, guidance and counseling activities and supportive personnel for Student Support Services Program participants;
  • Reviews individual development plans for each assigned Student Support Services participant;
  • Identifies and coordinates services with other agencies providing services to students who are members of special populations to eliminate duplication of services;
  • Identifies and coordinates assessment services for Student Support Services Program participants;
  • Provides individual and group counseling related functions to participants.

This is the third of six levels in the Student Support Professional series.  The classification is responsible for coordinating student services and activities in an assigned area.  Incumbent responsibilities generally include providing direct student assistance; ensuring consistency and compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations or guidelines; coordinating services with other departments and outside agencies; developing and evaluating programs and services; coordinating and facilitating special events; and, developing marketing and promotion strategies.  Incumbents may have formal supervisory responsibility over support and/or technical staff.

Compensation: $55,952.53 - $69,940.66

Requirements:

Education:

Master’s degree in Counseling or in a related field to assigned area, or a Master’s degree including 18 graduate hours in Counseling.

Experience:

One (1) year of experience with management and coordination of  programs at the postsecondary level. Experience working with academically at-risk college students. Experience in designing, managing or implementing Student Support Services or similar projects preferred.

  • Understanding of grant-funded projects’ reporting requirements;

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
