Business Systems & Accounting Manager [ID: 182]
Position Summary:

Responsible for working with and supporting the Provost and Allstate Center Program Managers and Directors on all College business and administrative processes, as well as changes and implementation of new systems and procedures. These would include Budgeting, Accounting, Human Resources, Payroll, and Contracting functions in a Credit and Non-credit environment that supports grants and Fund 10 accounts.   Supervises and directs employees in the Administrative Services office.  Responsible for the overall efficiency, economy and effectiveness of business services and administrative functions.

 

Typical Essential Duties

  • Works with directors and managers to ensure a consistent, complete and timely implementation of College procedures and documents. Assures system and procedural integrity is maintained and adhered to;
  • Reviews processes and procedures, suggests changes to streamline, and follows to implementation in coordination with appropriate College entities;
  • Assures documents are quality controlled, timely and accurate;
  • Coordinates with and supports operational staff in all administrative and financial functional areas including budget at Allstate Center;
  • Assures written procedures and documentation are adequate, accurate, and current for all functions under direct or indirect responsibility;
  • Responsible for PeopleSoft Financial and HR system, data and accounts to ensure integrity and accuracy;
  • Manages grants and fund 10 billings, receivables and reimbursements to be paid and provides reporting to College and outside agencies as required;
  • Maintains various internal systems to track contracts, operational and financial data;
  • Oversees the MCTFT and NTPI fiscal and cash management systems and the preparation of various contractor reports;
  • Supervises and directs employees in the Administrative services office at the Center;
  • Responsible for the overall efficiency, economy and effectiveness of business services and administrative functions at the Allstate Center.

 

Compensation: $55,952.53 - $69,940.66

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business or in a related field to assigned area.  Masters Degree / CPA preferred.

Five (5) years experience in higher education or public accounting. Prefer experience with the functional and/or technical requirements of financial enterprise systems (PeopleSoft preferred)

Experience:

Five (5) years progressive and responsible experience in accounting and management. Supervisory experience. Experience in systems implementation of applications or user equivalent. Experienced and skilled in software programs to include PeopleSoft and Excel.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking,  grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Prepares budgets for assigned departments; reviews and modifies budgets as necessary; tracks revenues and expenditures; prepares and provides financial information as requested.

Reviews and participates in complex financial accounting activities, which may include: reviewing, researching, and analyzing financial data and transactions; tracking and analyzing expenditures; reconciling accounts; tracking leases; projecting revenues and expenses; reviewing and approving financial invoices and contracts; researching account discrepancies; assessing, maintaining, and interpreting financial and accounting systems; and/or performing related activities.

Prepares a variety of detailed analytical and statistical financial reports which may include: analyzing accounts for accuracy and discrepancies; performing costs analyses; recommending departmental spending priorities.

Prepares, submits, reviews, and analyzes a variety of statements, contracts, and reconciliations to and from internal departments, financial institutions, and external agencies; makes recommendations based on findings.
