Directs and coordinates the design, implementation, maintenance and ongoing evolution of college-wide internet-based academic servers, including those hosting the Learning Management System (LMS), online student services, academic systems, and other academic server-based systems. Reports to the Executive Director, eCampus/Web & Instructional Technology (based at the Seminole Campus).
Typical Essential Duties
This is the fifth of five levels in the Instructional Technology series. Incumbents direct instructional technology efforts across the organization. Responsibilities may include developing long-range strategies and goals; promoting the use of instructional technology across the College; developing and implementing college-wide instructional technology goals; establishing procedures and standards; recommending and implementing policies related to the use of the world wide web and the internet; directing the research of new technologies; managing instructional technology projects; preparing, reviewing, and approving financial, statistical and operational reports; and supervising the lower levels. Incumbents supervise lower level instructional technology, information technology and/or administrative support staff
Requirements:
Education:
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or in a related field to assigned area with specialization in computing, database management, networking, and Internet-based systems required. Certified training in vendor-specific networking concepts and operations highly desirable. Graduate level work in related discipline desired.
Experience:
Eight (8) years experience implementing and utilizing instructional technology, computing systems, database management, networks and computer center operations, including four (4) years management experience.
Must include actual work with designing and implementing computing system components.
