Procurement and Asset Management Director [ID: 216]
Position Summary:

Typical Essential Duties

  • Approves all Procurement Requisitions and Check Requests.

This is the sixth of six levels in the Materials Management series. Incumbents plan, organize, and manage the purchasing and asset management operations of the College.  Responsibilities may include directing procurement and asset management operations to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies; approving procurement requisitions and check requests; submitting contractor bid information to the Board of Trustees; developing and managing a budget; developing and implementing department procedures; recommending policy changes; preparing financial and statistical reports; and performing the duties of the lower levels.  Incumbents supervise lower level purchasing and asset management staff.

Compensation: $61,937.62 - $92,906.43

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field to assigned area.

Experience:

Five (5) years purchasing or asset management. Experience in supervising and participating in procurement of products, materials, services, and supplies. Procurement experience from a higher education institution is preferred.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
  • Incumbents may be subjected to fumes, odors, dusts, gases, extreme temperatures, work space restrictions, and intense noises.

Directs staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
