Position Summary:

Provides leadership and is accountable for essential aspects of Campus operations, including: efforts to ensure that the full range of support programs and services is optimal in helping all students to succeed in their academic goals.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Leadership of Campus efforts to assure that the “College Experience” is optimal by: implementing educational and academic support programs; working with Deans, Program Directors and Academic Chairs to define, schedule, and support appropriate academic courses and programs on the Campus to meet student needs; working with Campus and District personnel for continual improvements to the Library, Learning Support Commons, and other academic support programs;
  • Works with Campus and District personnel for continual improvements to processes in Admissions, Registration, Financial Assistance and all other campus-based student services areas;
  • Works with Campus and District personnel to effectively address Facilities and Security-related campus concerns, and all other support services;
  • Serves as chief Campus operating officer, responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, and all other aspects of Campus administration;
  • Commitment to creating Campus environment that fosters student engagement and leadership development;
  • Commitment to Campus environment that encourages and enables faculty and staff to create positive and innovative learning experiences;
  • Builds and supports an effective leadership team;
  • Creates a climate of open and effective communication;
  • Works collaboratively with faculty, staff and students on mutually created goals and initiatives in
    support of student learning;
  • Organizes staff and resources for success in goal accomplishment;
  • Provides leadership in ensuring that academic and business processes focus on enhancement of the
    learning environment;
  • Serves as Campus representative for collegewide concerns;
  • Works collaboratively with other campus Provosts, the Chair of the Campus Faculty Governance Organization, and Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents to ensure a collegewide perspective while considering and advocating for the individual needs of the Campus;
  • Assists with the development of external funds to support campus as well as collegewide programs and projects, in cooperation with the College’s Foundation;
  • Serves as Campus representative to the local community, including civic, governmental and business organizations;
  • Advances the aims and objectives of state college education as well as those of St. Petersburg College and the Campus by community contacts and participation in community affairs.

This is the third of four levels in the Student Services Management series.  The classification is responsible for directing the activities, programs, and projects of College-wide or campus-wide student services related departments, functions, or programs.  Incumbents work in an administrative related department or function which enables the College to provide assistance and support to all students related to the enrollment, registration, and advising services.  Incumbents will be responsible for managing professional work, recommending, developing, and managing multiple budgets, and working with multiple departments to achieve strategic objectives.  Incumbents will have supervisory responsibilities, and be predominantly involved in the strategy formation and external relations.

Compensation: $114,500.54 - $143,125.67

Requirements:

Education:

Master's degree in a related field to assigned area. Doctorate degree preferred. At unique service Campuses, a combination of professional and educational experience may be considered.

Experience:

Seven (7) years professional administrative experience, at least 3 of which are in higher education or other senior administrative educational experience.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
