Early College/Dual Enrollment Coordinator [ID: 37]
Position Summary:

This position coordinates the Dual Enrollment/Early College Program and Early Admission activities and schedules for a campus-based program. Responsibilities include maintaining and developing relationships with the public and private high schools in Pinellas County; the scheduling of Dual Enrollment/Early College and Early Admission high school students; and the implementation of the College Experience. The incumbent supports these accelerated programs through a commitment to the success of students with diverse goals, backgrounds and learning styles.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Serves as liaison to public and private high schools and home school students in Pinellas County;
  • Assists in developing recruitment, retention and intervention activities;
  • Assists in developing the annual budget for the Dual Enrollment/Early College Program/Early Admission;
  • Assists in developing an annual listing of approved Dual Enrollment classes;
  • Promotes and develops offsite Dual Enrollment programs in local high schools;
  • Monitors and ensures that the faculty involved in the offsite Dual Enrollment programs are properly credentialed and meet SACS standards;
  • Assists in conducting instructional evaluations of offsite Dual Enrollment adjunct faculty within the local high schools;
  • Develops a detailed process of record keeping which will be used to monitor enrollment of both Dual Enrollment and Early Admission students.
  • Serves as a member of the Pinellas Education Articulation Committee (PEAC);
  • Assists in developing and implementing articulation agreements with local high schools;
  • Works in conjunction with the Director and campus-based administration to address and resolve academic and behavioral issues;
  • Interacts with professional groups on behalf of the college.

 

Incumbents in this class focus on coordinating professional-level support services to students (local, out-of-state, international) and prospective students in single areas or across a number of disciplines that may include admissions, financial aid, academic advising, career services, study abroad, honors college, and disability services. In addition to providing student support services, incumbents are responsible for developing internal and external partnerships to enhance services; conducting program assessment and evaluation to ensure effective delivery of services; making referrals for resources to assist in the students' career and educational success; and serving as a liaison between high schools, students, employers, and the college.  Incumbents in this class perform professional-level student support activities and may have formal supervisory responsibility for program staff.

Compensation: $46,978.82 - $58,723.53

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field to assigned area. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

Five (5) years experience in education. Preferably three (3) years in educational counseling or administration.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
