Web Program & Support Manager [ID: 403]
Position Summary:

Manages and coordinates the design, development, maintenance and on-going technological evolution of selected web-based software application systems for student, faculty and staff services and support. This position also supervises assigned programming staff, resources and support required for the selected assigned web-based software application systems.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Works with developers to standardize all maintenance and documentation of web systems, promoting consistent programming standards and techniques.

Incumbents are responsible for planning and implementing technical services operations including enterprise level applications, network infrastructure, telecommunications, technology support, help desk, and data center operations. Responsibilities include participating in the planning of college-wide systems, infrastructure and related technology items; managing daily project activities; participating in budget development and management; managing contracts/leases; and recommending policy and procedure modifications.

Compensation: $87,351.91 - $109,189.89

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or in a related field to assigned area.  Graduate level work preferred.

Experience:

Five (5) years experience in computer programming development, with 3 years experience as a manager in at least a programmer/analyst position.  Experience must include extensive hands-on work with academic software and software systems design and management. Experience and expertise in web development languages and development tools. Experience and expertise in operating system software and hardware used at the college is preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Variety of programming languages in use and contemplated by the college, among them PHP, AJAX, ASP, .NET, XML, Flash, CSS and Cold Fusion;
  • Facility with design of databases and data integrity using SQL and MySQL.
  • Project management principles, practices, and tools;
  • Project conception/initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing;
  • Management and leadership principles;
  • Budget administration principles;
  • Program management principles;
  • Peoplesoft applications;
  • Policy and procedure development practices;
  • Networking and server configuration and operation principles;
  • Computer language and programming concepts;
  • Computers and related software applications.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
