Technology Applications & Support Coordinator [ID: 408]
Position Summary:

This is the third of six levels in the Information Technology series. Incumbents coordinate and implement the maintenance, use and enhancement of software or hardware systems critical to the operation of the College.  Responsibilities may include analyzing system capabilities and implementing process and procedure changes to better utilize software or hardware; coordinating with software vendors regarding software support and system enhancements; coordinating projects involving the implementation of new software or hardware, or system changes; and training end users.

Develops and conducts technology training programs and provides support to users with various software applications and related hardware, Web pages, audio visual equipment, and other peripheral equipment; performs related duties as required. Primary duty includes assessing functional and applied technology training needs; developing and presenting training programs in a variety of delivery methods including employee self-directed learning formats; evaluating the effectiveness of training through the use of participant evaluations and supervisor interviews; preparing and presenting classroom instruction and scheduling dates and locations for classes.

 

Typical Essential Duties

  • Primarily responsible for the development and delivery of various software application and process training courses/seminars/workshops/and other learning formats for internal audiences;
  • Work collaboratively with Support Team, Development Team, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate creative training solutions that are consistent with sound instructional design and adult learning principles;
  • Interact with team members, developers, instructors, SMEs, and other field personnel to create, modify, and enhance various courses, workshops, seminars, and online training;
  • Apply Instructional Design standards in new and creative ways when creating training solutions;
  • Apply business analyst skills to determine customer needs and produce products to meet those needs;
  • Demonstrate ability to learn new products and mold their capabilities to employee needs;
  • Develop a wide variety of learning materials such as CD ROMS, workbooks, manuals, user guides, job aides, case studies, demonstrations, simulations and, online help;
  • Develop course evaluation materials;
  • Designs, develops, and implements college application training for new college hires on PeopleSoft, SharePoint, Office products, etc… (Based on the job’s needs);
  • Other duties may include participating in the selection of contractual and in-house trainers, coordinating their presentations, and monitoring their performance.
 
Compensation: $66,640.36 - $83,300.45

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in instructional technology, curriculum planning, computer technology, information systems or in a related field to assigned area.

Experience:

Four (4) years experience in computer support and/or applied technical support training. Expertise using software that facilitates the design of instruction. Experience in a collaborative development environment. Experience using e-learning or distance learning technology solutions to design and develop on-line training solutions. Experience with HTML, XML, object oriented software development methodologies preferred.
