Position Summary:

Typical Essential Duties

  • Responsible for fundraising and soliciting support for program participants;
  • Maintains or supervises the maintenance of participants’ database to track the student progress;
  • Participates in the development and implementation of project seminars and workshops for students;
  • Participates in the recruitment and retention activities of student in the specific project;
  • Advises students in areas regarding their academic progress, financial assistance procedures, career choices, graduation requirements, and provides assistance in areas related to the goals of the project;
  • Performs research and gathers technical data to improve the project.

This is the third of six levels in the Student Support Professional series.  The classification is responsible for coordinating student services and activities in an assigned area.  Incumbent responsibilities generally include providing direct student assistance; ensuring consistency and compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations or guidelines; coordinating services with other departments and outside agencies; developing and evaluating programs and services; coordinating and facilitating special events; and, developing marketing and promotion strategies.  Incumbents may have formal supervisory responsibility over support and/or technical staff.

Compensation: $55,952.53 - $69,940.66

Requirements:

Education:

Masters's degree in a related field to assigned area.

Experience:

One (1) year of management experience in a field relating to the project assigned with demonstrated community relations. Teaching experience preferred.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.

Develops and proposes program plans for assigned area of responsibility, which includes: writing academic/student goals, ensuring alignment with overall College goals; monitoring and evaluating program compliance with applicable goals and intended results.
