Research Analyst [ID: 472]
Position Summary:

The Curriculum Services office is a customer-centered office positioned to assist in the management and implementation of SPC’s curriculum.  The Research Analyst works collaboratively with academic programs, deans, faculty and college administrators to ensure consistency and integrity in our programs.  Responsibilities include assisting in the development and management of SPC’s curriculum; support of administrative processes for establishing, maintaining and reporting curriculum-related information; oversight of the technical aspects of the curriculum development and review process; maintenance of the curriculum management system database; preparation of curriculum-related reports and tools; communication with the program offices and assistance in disseminating curriculum information to the wider campus community.

Working in the PeopleSoft Student Information System (SIS) the Research Analyst will work directly with student information and data records, assisting in developing, maintaining and troubleshooting academic degree audits as well as supporting the college catalog (courses).  The Research Analyst reviews program and course proposals submitted by academic units for technical accuracy and to ensure compliance with state and institutional policies.  Please note, this position does NOT involve the writing of curriculum.

This is the second of five levels in the Institutional Effectiveness series. Incumbents collect, analyze and summarize data. Responsibilities may include data collection and organizations; analyzing datasets and preparing summaries; evaluating and verifying data reports and studies; verifying the accuracy of assigned database(s) and college reporting systems through audits; and performing the duties of the lower levels.

Compensation: $43,247.95 - $60,547.13

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field to assigned area.  Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

Three (3) years experience in higher education, student information systems or related experience.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Proficient in and experience working in a student information system (PeopleSoft, Banner, etc.);

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
