Institutional Research and Effectiveness Executive Director [ID: 680]
Position Summary:

Under the overall direction of the Associate Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Grants serves as the academic administrator for institutional research, regional and specialized accreditation activities, and assessment. Responsible for evaluation, research, assessment and related compliance activities to implement data driven decision solutions for institutional improvement and student success. Responsible for the analysis and reporting of data and outcomes as requested by internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for the monitoring and communicating of emergent state and national policies as well as trends related to institutional performance.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Responsible for continuing the development of the business intelligence tools to respond to institutional and academic needs related to strategic initiatives;
  • Responsible for implementing training programs at the institution which provide opportunities for employees to develop their data skills and strongly promote the use of data in the decision-making process;
  • Responsible for analysis and studies as requested by administration to evaluate student success metrics;
  • Responsible for an assessment process to ensure an ongoing focus on performance improvement as well as compliance with state and accreditation requirements;
  • Responsible for annual and ad hoc surveys as well as analyses of performance and facilitates the use of the results for performance improvement;
  • Partners with the Associate Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Grants in order to ensure compliance with accrediting agencies;
  • Serves on various college and statewide committees, as necessary.

This is the sixth of six levels in the Institutional Effectiveness series. Incumbents coordinate and review the development of multiple statistical and analytical reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Responsibilities may include planning, directing, completing, and reviewing long-term reports and studies; preparing projections related to curriculum, students, enrollment and budgeting; directing survey and/or program assessment efforts; publishing research briefs; and participating on committees and task forces.

Compensation: $85,006.50 - $127,509.76

Requirements:

Education:

Master’s degree in applied research area such as: Higher Education, Educational Research, Educational Leadership, Mathematics or Statistics or in a related field to assigned area with courses in educational research, design, and statistics.

Experience:

Six (6) years administrative experience in educational and/or institutional research or in a position requiring statistical/data analysis, including two years supervisory responsibility.  Experience in institutional research and/or educational program evaluation. Strong understanding of the Florida Community College System. A proven record of administrative effectiveness in a collegial environment; demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication and an ability to present  information clearly to diverse groups. Possession of strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to provide leadership and work effectively with staff, faculty and students. Experience in analysis of systems and procedures, and organizational and operational assessments.

  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
