Strategic Project Execution Manager [ID: 692]
Position Summary:

Serve as an interface between the technology division and college-wide stakeholders to facilitate strategic execution and assessment of enterprise systems projects of the Strategic Project Execution team.  Acts as a liaison and resource to IT project owners throughout the college.  Provide guidance to strategic project owners and functional IT project managers in developing/tracking project timelines, developing/reporting key metrics and coordinating with other areas within the college on just in time staff development and coaching needs, formal training and communication.  Interface with Business Intelligence systems to develop scorecard and dashboard applications for project support.
This position is also responsible for evaluating project timeline progress, as well as success tracking to key metrics, determining when a project may be at risk, and development of “just in time” corrective measures to facilitate project success.  

Typical Essential Duties

  • Integrate IT support systems to identify, respond to and act on concerns via communication and clear delineation of duties;
  • Analyze technology need requests and recommend solutions to include internal IT services and/or outsourced solutions;
  • Assist business with development of the business cases, and liaise with senior leadership to prioritize proposed projects;
  • Facilitate the adoption and implementation of new technology-based solutions by business users;
  • Assist business owners with governance of the technology projects;
  • Schedule and coordinate internal technology management meetings and develop follow-up reports accordingly;
  • Participates in the development of end user training to enable an appropriate level of technical self-sufficiency for college management, faculty and support staff'
  • Performs planning and budget management for the system initiatives.

 

This is the fourth of six levels in the Information Technology series. Incumbents coordinate and implement the maintenance, use and enhancement of software or hardware systems critical to the operation of the College.  Responsibilities may include analyzing system capabilities and implementing process and procedure changes to better utilize software or hardware; coordinating with software vendors regarding software support and system enhancements; coordinating projects involving the implementation of new software or hardware, or system changes; and training end users.

Compensation: $76,296.54 - $95,370.68

Requirements:

Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in information technology, technology management or in a related field to assigned area.

Experience:

Four (4) years full-time professional work experience in enterprise systems project management, and business intelligence systems applications development.  Experience with PeopleSoft functional business analysis and/or technical applications programming and applications development preferred.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

  • PeopleSoft Enterprise Systems, SharePoint, database/file server design and administration including knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
