Broadcast Services Manager [ID: 721]
Position Summary:

Incumbents manage the overall operations and programming of the College television station which requires the determination of programming and overseeing the production and direction of video projects.  Responsibilities include supervising the production of video material; consulting on College technology needs; managing the operations of the station; developing and implementing College marketing campaigns; scheduling TV studio and remote shooting activities; and assigning and prioritizing projects.

Compensation: $71,305.18 - $89,131.48

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in communications or in a related field to assigned area.

Experience:

Three (3) years experience in television production and post production work.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching,  reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Incumbents may be subjected to electrical currents.

Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained and properly licensed; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.

Manages broadcasting activities and operations, which includes: planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programming and related projects, processes, procedures, and standards; ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; and, working to integrate and coordinate service areas.

Produces and records a wide variety of broadcasted productions, which includes: ensuring adherence to production budgets; evaluating equipment requirements; producing schedules; scheduling production personnel; writing scripts; ensuring appropriate aesthetics; performing post-production editing; and, performing other related activities.

Manages and monitors the department budget; prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations; submits justifications for budget items; and, monitors and controls expenditures.

Performs and oversees the maintenance and troubleshooting of video/audio equipment; researches, evaluates, and recommends equipment purchases as necessary.
