Human Resources Coordinator [ID: 756]
Position Summary:

This is the third of seven levels in the Human Resources series. Incumbents implement an assigned human resource function or activity, such as recruitment, employee benefits, wellness or compensation. Responsibilities may include tracking multiple timelines; providing information to employees; preparing and reviewing reports for accuracy; responding to questions regarding area of responsibility; interpreting organizational policies and procedures; conducting new hire orientations; maintaining up-to-date job descriptions; determining starting salaries; counseling supervisors and employees; and maintaining accurate records. This classification may be responsible for supervising and directing the work of employees assigned to functional area.

Compensation: $43,247.95 - $60,547.13

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in human resources, or a related field.

Experience:

Two (2) years human resource experience.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Coordinates the activities of an assigned human resources function, which includes planning, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, and/or procedures; monitors compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards.

Coordinates and participates in the collection, analysis, preparation, and reporting of relevant information and data related to assigned area of responsibility.

Develops and facilitates training sessions on applicable topics in assigned area of responsibility; presents training.

Provides information and advice related to specific human resources related processes and procedures to employees and/or College staff; recommends and advises staff on effective strategies to meet staffing and organizational goals.

May prioritize and assign work to lower level staff; monitor the performance of lower level staff; train staff on work methods and procedures; and participate on staff evaluations.
