The College-wide Placement Testing Coordinator plays a key role in assisting new students as they transition to the College. The Coordinator provides guidance and direction across the College to ensure that the College placement test and other standardized tests are offered in accordance with the National College Testing Association’s Professional Standards and Guidelines. The Coordinator also ensures timely awarding of course credit for prior external testing (CLEP, AP, IB). This position also plays a critical role in the planning and execution of the College’s commencement exercises. Working with Student Affairs leadership, the Coordinator will conduct several tasks to ensure that the chosen venue is ready for our commencement exercises and that College leadership and staff is prepared for a successful event. The Coordinator has direct interaction with students and staff who will be highlighted during College Commencement. Approximately, 70% of the time will be spent on College Placement Testing activities and 30% of the time on Commencement activities. This position reports to the Director of Admissions & Records.

This is the third of four levels in the Instructional Support series. Incumbents plan, organize, coordinate, and provide educational support services in an assigned area. Responsibilities may include developing, scheduling, and implementing programs and activities that support class goals and students' academic goals; maintaining instructional equipment, materials, or other supplies; and working directly with individual or groups of students to assess and support academic progress.

Provides leadership for interpreting student, individual and group testing results and enhance student learning;
· Plans, develops, implements and monitors department goals, policies and procedures for all SPC placement testing;
· Works collaboratively with academic deans and campus associate provosts and other administrators in the hiring, supervision and evaluation/assessment of testing staff and initiatives;
· Maintains state and federal policies and procedures for admissions and testing for course credit, and provides training to department staff and other academic and student services staff accordingly;
· Coordinates with the disabilities department for students who need testing and other accommodations and prepare staff to make arrangements to serve students;
· Prepares and manages the budget for college-wide testing;
· Serves as a communication liaison between campus staff, technical experts (AIS), Helpdesk, and Oracle Campus Solutions functional team;
· Serves as a member of the Pinellas Education Articulation Committee (PEAC) to help ensure a smooth transition from high school to college;
· As requested, coordinates outreach testing services at feeder high schools and other locations. Coordinates testing services to non-SPC students for various programs and initiatives.
