Science Lab Technician (OPS) [ID: 812]
Position Summary:

Typical Essential Duties

Performs routine science laboratory procedures to support a variety of Natural Science laboratory classes, including Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Chemistry and other biological and physical science classes. Assignment of duties is provided by faculty.

  • Set up and take down laboratory materials and supplies as needed to support laboratory classes.
  • ensure that all materials and supplies are organized and stored in a safe manner in accordance with standard environmental safety procedures. 
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Natural Science laboratories and preparatory areas.
  • Purchases required materials, supplies, and equipment to support laboratory activities in the Natural Sciences courses.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment.

 

 

Compensation: $18.23 - $18.23

Requirements:

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree with course work in the natural sciences preferred.

 

Experience:

 Two (2) years laboratory experience.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of science laboratory equipment, laboratory safety, and common natural science laboratory chemicals.
