Grants Research Analyst [ID: 832]
Position Summary:

This is the second of five levels in the Institutional Effectiveness series. Incumbents collect, analyze and summarize data. Responsibilities may include data collection and organizations; analyzing datasets and preparing summaries; evaluating and verifying data reports and studies; verifying the accuracy of assigned database(s) and college reporting systems through audits; and performing the duties of the lower levels.

Compensation: $43,247.95 - $60,547.13

Requirements:

Knowledge:

  • Research design principles and practices;
  • Current issues in higher education;
  • Assessment, evaluation, and measurement principles;
  • Data extraction and transformation;
  • Report writing practices;
  • Advanced mathematical and statistical methods and principles;
  • Understanding query writing principles

Skills:

  • Designing research methods and evaluation models;
  • Planning, creating, and maintaining databases;
  • Formatting and generating reports;
  • Using survey tools;
  • Performing mathematical and statistical calculations;
  • Extracting and transforming data and information;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with subordinates, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Communicate with administrators, faculty, staff and deans within the assigned and related curriculum development and approval process.  Serve as a resource on the interpretation of technical information and the implication on operations and procedures.  Identify and resolve issues and concerns relating to implementation, operations, policies and procedures related to the curriculum.

Complete requested research and participate college-wide curriculum focused initiatives and special projects.

Extract, manipulate, and process data utilizing a variety of resources; perform basic analyses and provide research data for internal stakeholders.

Work with internal stakeholders on student data, academic program information and institutional processes.  Coordinate and participate in department activities with other departments.  Troubleshoot problems.
