Career and Technical Education Coordinator [ID: 837]
Position Summary:

Typical Essential Duties

  • Communicates with SPC development officers, administrators and faculty about fundable expenses for Career and Technical Education programs;
  • Confers with Business Services personnel and pertinent others to develop the budget proposal;
  • Prepares all correspondence in order to fulfill SPC Board of Trustees requirements;
  • Works with Business Services and Grant Project Manager to set up grant budgets once funding is secured;
  • Performs all functions required of personnel in Academic and Student Affairs.

Incumbents plan, coordinate and monitor grant funded programs and/or activities.  Responsibilities may include evaluating grant opportunities; developing project plans, timelines and budgets; marketing grant programs; monitoring compliance with grant guidelines; coordinating efforts with fiscal agents and sub-recipients of grants; maintaining documentation of grant activities; supervising professional and/or clerical staff; and preparing operational and financial reports.

Compensation: $59,309.68 - $74,137.10

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, business, or related field.

Experience:

Six (6) years of experience working in higher education. Three years of experience with Career and Technical Education or Vocational Education programs Experience in developing and writing programmatic proposals to governmental and private funding sources including development of curriculum/programs, budgets and budget narrative, timelines, and job descriptions.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

Knowledge:

  • Career and Technical Education programs;
  • Principles of supervision, organization, and administration;
  • Managerial principles and practices.

Skills:

  • Managing and evaluating the work of lower level staff;
  • Prioritizing and assigning work;
  • Providing customer service.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
