The Data Analyst will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of complex queries, reports, and analyses related to Saint Petersburg College (SPC) financials. Reporting to financial leadership, the incumbent will provide expertise and insight to engage and stimulate increased utilization of financial analytics solutions as strategic assets in decision-making and program assessment. Apply advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and various predictive modeling techniques to provide information, knowledge, collaboration, and tools to substantiate the growth and continued success of SPC. Collaborate with a team of data analysts, budget specialists, accountants, and other stakeholders as part of a dynamic financial service operation.
Essential Functions
Perform data analysis to support business unit objectives, turning data into insights that drive business decisions.
Define and scope report requirements (in collaboration with the business unit team), design and develop report-oriented code (either in SAS, or SQL); build, test, and standardize reports, data visualizations, and dashboards (either in Power BI and/or Excel); development of business intelligence program, EPM, and AI (Machine Learning).
Applies advanced predictive modeling, data mining, machine learning, and statistical techniques to enable informed decision-making, student support, and strategic initiatives.
Ensure data quality and integrity by participating in database QA and college report peer review process.
Identify and prepare data content for webinars and public communications and presentations; collaborate with business unit leaders to define the scope of new analyses and present completed reports to college stakeholders.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Accountancy, or related field.
Experience:
Five (5) years of relevant experience conducting data analysis, data mining, or data visualization or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Competencies/Technical/Functional Skills:

Superior working knowledge in data collection, classification, analysis, techniques, and methodologies with proven ability to independently synthesize, implement, analyze, and report findings on research investigations. working knowledge of information technologies including high-level proficiency and understanding of data visualization, PeopleSoft, EPM, data mining, statistical analysis, cloud computing, and analytical programming languages such as SQL, R, and/or Python.

2-5 years of data analysis experience and financial training in Enterprise Performance Management (Oracle EPM)
Extensive knowledge of PeopleSoft
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong critical thinking skills and a solutions-oriented, innovative approach to exploring data
Extensive knowledge of SQL and/or SAS required
Extensive knowledge of Power BI Desktop required
Working knowledge of Power BI Server required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and videoconference software (Zoom, Microsoft Teams) Understanding of basic statistics and research methods
Experience working in higher education and/or institutional research a plus
Ability to develop strong, collaborative working relationships with colleagues in an onsite and virtual work environment
Needs to be flexible with a willingness to adapt to changes
Excellent organizational skills and flexibility to handle several projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
