Interactive Assistant Director [ID: 848]
Position Summary:

Directs and implements effective, user-friendly and functional web designs both in the traditional and mobile space, including the incorporation of an SPC Mobile App. Directs and implements SEO-focused front-end code, including HTML, SML, CSS and JavaScript. Ensures code is compatible with all supported web browsers and makes decisions to resolve technical issues. Directs Search Engine Marketing and landing page development.

Typical Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement web-testing initiatives to optimize user experience.
  • Provide regular web analytics reports and analysis.
  • Prepare formal and informal status reports.
  • Ensure site metrics are defined and continually reported against. Provide tools for the team to easily access analytics that provide valued and accurate consumer insights.
  • Oversee the website content and functionality geared towards greater usability and tracking for the perspective student and community.
  • Develop the infrastructure and manage design and navigation of the Faculty and Staff Intranet Sharepoint Site and the Student Hub hosted via PeopleSoft and Sharepoint.
  • Use analytics to determine areas of opportunity in regards to usability and relaying information to various types of users based on their demands.
  • Support monthly advertising campaigns and projects.
  • Manage the work of three Web Developers and one manager of Search Engine Marketing.
  • Direct the conceptualization and development of Pay Per Click landing pages in line with keyword, ad copy to obtain low cost per click and higher quality scores.
  • Manages the Ektron CMS system.
  • Experience with web browser specificities, cross-browser testing and alternate stylesheets.
  • Deep understanding of web standards and best practices.
  • Familiarity with developing APIs and HTTP posts; and with various content management systems
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite CS6, data networks and web security
  • Must be able to write high quality front-end code
  • Wide range of web technology experience including XML, ASP/.NET, CSS, HTML, XHTML, HTML5, Analytics. Ektron CMS.
  • Implement effective and functional designs
  • Recommend and validate Information Architecture including site map, page flow, navigation architecture, wire frames, usability studies, analysis and findings
  • Perform web analytics and results analysis
  • Develop new/improved processes for initiating web projects, managing web projects, web site content audits, and reporting enablement

  • Provide creative evaluation and adherence to brand standards/ style guide maintenance

  • Ensure successful completion of all enterprise projects by managing scope, approach, workplan, internal and external resources, technology vendors and risks.
  • Guide the development of staff members, including setting objectives, coaching, delivering performance reviews, and advising management on compensation.

Incumbents are responsible for overseeing a marketing or communications related function or service for the College by managing the daily activities, prioritizing assignments, determining marketing and communication plans, developing plans to approach marketing projects, implementing the project solutions, and performing related professional level marketing or communications work in assigned area.  Incumbents may be responsible for supervising employees or student workers, and developing and monitoring a budget.

Compensation: $71,305.18 - $89,131.48

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a Web field is required. Master's degree is preferred. 

Experience:

Eight (8) years Web management experience including usability, web analytics, development, and web content strategies.

  • Above-average web skills and Internet marketing knowledge
  • Understanding of responsive frameworks, design and development techniques (cross-device compatibility);
  • Solid understanding of web design, accessibility, usability, search engine optimization and information architecture;
  • Solid foundation in use of Adobe Creative Suite and basic graphic design principles;
  • Burning desire to staying abreast of web and online trends, provide insight into competitive landscape and market shift toward increased web investments;
  • Strong foundation in responsive design and developing across digital devices, including desktop, mobile, tablet, etc.

  • Expert level with the following technologies: Javascript, responsive cross browser CSS3 and HTML5 and an understanding of WYSIWYG editors and blog software;
  • Experience working with web content management systems.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills including detailed documentation writing/code commenting;
  • Ability to work in an environment of constantly shifting priorities and continuous improvement; and to represent the department to others in a constructive, professional and courteous manner;
  • 8+ years effective web coding, testing, implementation, maintenance and debugging skills;
  • 8+ years demonstrated experience developing web sites (full project life cycle) and managing large-scale web/technology projects;
  • Four years experience web development within CMS environments preferred;
