Direct Mail & Storefront Specialist (MPI) [ID: 859]
Position Summary:

The Direct Mail & Storefront Specialist will support all direct mail jobs, and the Xerox Storefront CMD. This person will act as a postal liaison, while performing a variety of task – all of which are linked to mail preparing, mailing quality assurance and postal delivery accuracy.

Typical Essential Duties:

  • Working closely with the US Post Office.
  • Processing lists, postal statements, and postal estimates
  • Working closely with our print shop for mailing requirements
  • Knowledge/understanding postal mailing requirements, and being able to  help make critical decision to process mail.
  • Communication across departments and with clients and post office.
  • Act as a liaison for external client lists, whether purchased or supplied, and running the list through Verimove software to clean bad addresses.
  • Manage the workflow of data files with variable data. This might include variable images and or text, or providing support to the creative department in the design of variable data mailings.
  • Asssist with improving work flows that facilitate the merging of presort data files with art work and production.
  • Communication with the post office regarding the daily delivery of mail to the BMEU at all delivery locations.
  • Prepare and submit electronic (mail.dat) postal statements.
  • Make recommendation on cost saving opportunities by reducing postage rate where possible.
  • Monitor postal regulation changes to ensure ongoing compliance and to be advised of cost saving opportunities that become available.
  • Assist with and make recommendation for the ongoing development of best practices in all direct mail functions.
  • Run the Pitney Bowes mailing machines and software to process mail, which includes printing addresses, folding, stuffing and sealing and sorting variable data.
  • Maintain the Xerox StoreFront CMD with templates and manage the ordering and processing of client jobs through the StoreFront.

This class is the first of six levels in the Multimedia Services series.  Incumbents provide production support.  Responsibilities may include preparing studio and field equipment for video shoots and broadcasts; repairing equipment; adjusting equipment; shipping equipment for repairs or remote shoots; contacting vendors to obtain quotes for repairs or new equipment; and maintaining records of equipment inventory.

Compensation: $14.35 - $21.24

Requirements:

Education:

High School diploma or GED.

 

Experience:

One (1) year of direct mail experience required. Strong understanding of postal compliance regulations.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Incumbents may be subjected to electrical currents, dusts, extreme temperatures, workspace restrictions, and travel.
