Social Media Manager (MPI) [ID: 860]
Position Summary:

The Social Media Manager is responsible for strategy, planning, implementation, measurement and reporting of all social media activities at St. Petersburg College, including social networking channels, blogs, forums and user-generated sites.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Define, implement and execute an integrated social media strategy for select social networks;
  • Manage full scale social media campaigns;
  • Manage Content Developers on social media campaigns
  • Ensure content presence is accurately and appropriately positioned across all social networks on defined social campaigns;
  • Have a depth of knowledge on how to increase quality followers on all social channels and how to increase user engagement, sharing, and push content to go viral;
  • Manage and train content developers to create engaging social media content.
  • Determine deliverables, timelines and execution standards for social media campaigns.
  • Create and distribute weekly and monthly activity reports to key stakeholders on consumer engagement, IP issues, and campaign impacts;
  • Set and analyze campaign metrics in comparison to activity-based goals, and translate into recommendations for revising social media tactics and/or measuring the success of social media initiatives;
  • Champion audience trends and expectations through audience insights and knowledge of best practices in social media management;
  • Keep abreast of developments and emerging platforms in social media to ensure the College maintains an optimal social channel mix;
  • Determine functional requirements, evaluation criteria and need for social media management tools;
  • Provide training and ongoing support for end-users of social media management platforms;
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Public Information team to ensure social media campaigns are executed in a manner consistent with PR strategy and College marketing plans;
  • Work with Public Information, Creative and Interactive teams to ensure social media content is executed with suitable graphics, optimized SEO, and in line with marketing’s broader promotional calendar;
  • Manage consumer engagement across all social media platforms, maintaining the highest standards of brand voice and spirit;
  • Troubleshoot as required, in partnership with college resources;
  • Ensure timeliness of response to inquiries posted to the College’s social media channels;
  • Monitor to the strategic goals of St. Petersburg College to track if social media is increasing retention, generating new students, breaking down barriers to effective communication;
  • Tell our brand story and gain valuable insight into our target audience to be able to better reach them;
  • Monitor user engagement, UGC, shares, reposts and comments;
  • Increase the quality and quantity of visitors to your website;
  • Improve the rate at which those visitors convert to valuable customers;
  • Measure and maximize your ROI from digital marketing.

This is the second of two levels in the Graphic Design series. Incumbents plan and coordinate graphic design services for the College.  Responsibilities may include assigning and supervising design work done by the lower level; establishing standards and processes for graphic design work; defining customer needs; approving graphic designs for College use; and performing the duties of the lower level.  Incumbents supervise the lower level.

Compensation: $52,785.40 - $65,981.75

Requirements:

Education:

Assoc. degree in a related field to assigned area

Experience:

Five (5) of experience in a marketing environment; 3-5 years of experience managing branded social media platforms. Experience with implementation and analytics of various social channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Blogs, etc. Experience with Google Analytics is a plus. Experience and understanding regarding the functionality of the existing assortment of social media platforms for the purpose of brand marketing. Experience  with social media content creation, including videos and blog posts.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

  • High degree of knowledge with the social media ecosystem, including how to manipulate it, as well as RSS and SEO optimization;
  • Comprehension of contemporary methodologies for social media tracking, aggregation and analysis.

  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
