Collaborative Labs Manager [ID: 874]
Position Summary:

Assists the Executive Director of the Collaborative Lab with all phases of managing and operating the lab.  Assists in designing and facilitating collaborative sessions.  Assists in meeting with clients to market the labs.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Responsible for designing and facilitating collaborative sessions using multimedia techniques;
  • Provides general business consulting and decision support services to clients;
  • Supports the delivery of services in the collaborative Lab by facilitating and summarizing the work that each client completes while in the facility;
  • Creates finished follow-up products such as business plans, marketing plans, vision statements, strategy documents by analyzing and synthesizing the information and work generated during the session by the client;
  • Sets up space for events to use the space to maximize productivity and creativity for the client;
  • Responsible for preparation of all materials for collaborative sessions;
  • Responsible for all multimedia techniques used in collaborative sessions, including working with the Technology Specialist in the setup and operation of equipment;
  • Responsible for listening, capturing and synthesizing ideas in collaborative sessions;
  • Assists the Executive Director and others in facilitating sessions;
  • Facilitates sessions when requested;
  • Assists the Executive Director in all phases of lab operation;
  • Assists the Business Development Officer with marketing the labs to clients;
  • Assists in designing and facilitating collaborative sessions.

This class is the second of three levels in the Business Development series.  Incumbents identify clients for long-term projects and research through College services and programs.  Responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities and clients; working with clients to identify needs and how the College services or programs can help create solutions; developing project budgets; negotiating contracts that include cost and scope of services; developing and implementing marketing plans to advertise and promote programs and services; and support the ongoing relationship to ensure the objectives and services requested by the client are met.

Compensation: $30.23 - $37.78

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field to assigned area.

Experience:

Five (5) years experience in managing projects requiring interpersonal interaction and group consensus building  Experience with facilitating groups.  Knowledge of multimedia applications and equipment.  Training (or willingness to obtain) in Appreciative Inquiry and other techniques used to facilitate collaborative engagements.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Assists with budget projection, conducts cost analysis, calculates margins, monitors profitability, tracks financial performance, and prepare detailed financial analysis for internal review.
