Executive Director Online Academic Integration, Student Success & Services [ID: 879]
Position Summary:

Responsible for providing leadership in online education through college-wide collaborations to support program administrators, faculty and staff in a multi-campus environment in developing and maintaining coherent and effective standards and programs that insure students’ academic success. 

Typical essential duties

  • Responsible for:
    • Structure and development of resources leading to integration and enhanced student readiness, retention, success and completion in the online modality;
    • Coordinating with program administrators in scheduling online classes to meet student need and grow online programs;
    • Collaborating with deans, chairs and faculty involved in online programs to improve cohesion of online offerings;
    • Working in conjunction with Professional Development staff to provide professional development opportunities for faculty and staff in the new models for success in online education;
    • Managing a college-wide database tracking faculty certification for teaching and/or developing online classes;
    • Creating and maintaining a system for structuring and monitoring instructional evaluations of online adjunct faculty;
    • Providing coordination to strengthen delivery of online student support services;
    • Preparing a detailed analysis of current online education success rates and support services status and performance and establishes benchmarks against which to measure the progress toward achieving related student readiness and success goals;
    • Proctored online testing scheduling and coordination with site representatives for staffing and deployment;
  • Serves as liaison to provosts, deans and chairs in matters of student success to insure that established policies and best practices are applied consistently college-wide.

The classification is responsible for directing the activities of an assigned academic related department or program.  Incumbents will develop strategies to accomplish goals, implement policies and procedures, and develop and monitor an assigned budget.  Incumbents may need to perform professional level work within assignment and will supervise employees or student workers. This classification is different from previous class in the scope of responsibility.

Compensation: $87,351.91 - $109,189.89

Requirements:

Education:

 Master’s degree in a related field to assigned area.

Experience:

Four (4) years administrative experience in online academics with attention to student success.  Preference given to those with experience teaching in the online modality. 

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Directs staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.

Provides oversight and directs the implementation of activities and operations for an assigned academic department or program, which includes: planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, student retention, strategic planning, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; implementing overall policy changes; ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; and coordinating and integrating activities between multiple service areas.

Prepares, reviews, and interprets a variety of applications, agreements, forms, records, needs assessments, business correspondence, and reports; makes recommendations based on findings.
