Apprenticeship Coordinator II [ID: 909]
Position Summary:

Job Duties:

  • Facilitates development of apprenticeship programs and respective enrollment of apprentices at SPC
  • Provides employers with administrative and consultative services for apprenticeship training.
  • Promotes and coordinates apprenticeship training in accordance with predetermined standards, and guides the development of new standards when appropriate.
  • Serves as linkage between industry standards, college programs, training providers, employers, and apprentices 
  • Conducts apprenticeship training needs assessments with industry to evaluate alignment with new or existing college programming to provide related technical instruction
  • Negotiates and prepares contracts and payment schedules for apprenticeship programs and employers. Conduct site visits to ensure standards are being met. Review and maintain and record keeping systems.
  • Works with College staff to articulate apprenticeship programs to college credit and degree programs
  • Coordinates follow-up activities to document program outcomes including, but not limited to, number enrolled, number trained, number completed
  • Works with Institutional Research & Effectiveness to report  student enrollment data,
  • Prepares periodic reports on the status of St. Petersburg College’s apprenticeship programs and enrollment
  • Conducts follow-up efforts with SPC program administrators, faculty,  and participants for valuable feedback as to program process and satisfaction levels
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additionally responsible for participant planning and development, the provision/referral of support and training services, and ensuring the quality of participant progress and work performed by the participant, as well as maintaining excellent working relations with training site/work site personnel.  Monitors progress of all assigned participants, resolving difficulties and tracking plan progress at least monthly, including follow-up services and transitional assistance.

Incumbents in this class focus on coordinating professional-level support services to students (local, out-of-state, international) and prospective students in single areas or across a number of disciplines that may include admissions, financial aid, academic advising, career services, study abroad, honors college, and disability services. In addition to providing student support services, incumbents are responsible for developing internal and external partnerships to enhance services; conducting program assessment and evaluation to ensure effective delivery of services; making referrals for resources to assist in the students' career and educational success; and serving as a liaison between high schools, students, employers, and the college.  Incumbents in this class perform professional-level student support activities and may have formal supervisory responsibility for program staff.

Compensation: $46,978.82 - $58,723.53

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a related field to assigned area.

Experience:

One (1) year in curriculum development and adult education or experience in a field related to the program in college or industry. Community relations and teaching/training experience preferred.

  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
