Position Summary:

Responsible for translating marketing objectives into creative strategies, concepts, and designs, and will determine the most effective way to represent the St. Petersburg College brand and identity across multiple media channels. This position will be a creator of graphic design, logo development, collateral development, advertising, promotions, as well as various digital and print implementations for the website, print publications and social media. Conceptualize and develop digital and print marketing and advertising materials for prospect conversion, student enrollment, engagement and retention as well as materials to support strategic communications initiatives. Uses specialized knowledge and skills in front-end responsive web design to aid developers in transforming concepts into hand-built sites, using PSD to HTML principles. Regularly collaborates with creative and interactive teams to move projects from concept to the completion.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Responsible for designing print collateral that supports the college’s projects and initiatives
  • Responsible for the designing of digital assets to aide in development of hand-built, fully custom responsive websites and pages, that are cross-functional on all platforms, browsers and devices
  • Understands target audience requirements and translates to actions that enhance development of creative approaches and conversion of prospective students
  • Communicates with content developers to coordinate creative strategy and execution and ensure graphics aligns with messaging
  • Communicates with web developers to coordinate website strategy, creative execution, user experience design, and navigational systems as they pertain to web function specifications
  • Maintains consistent brand identities across all marketing materials, with particular emphasis on print collateral, as well as digital, video and multimedia presentations

This is the second of four levels in the Marketing/Communications series. Incumbents produce marketing and communications collateral for use in printed and/or online marketing and communications efforts. Responsibilities may include researching; drafting; proofreading and editing written materials; designing graphics; coordinating photo shoots; and uploading and organizing photographs.

Compensation: $44,319.64 - $55,399.55

Requirements:

Education:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in related field.

Experience:

Two (2) years of knowledgeable and hands-on experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver.  Have a strong eye for detail of visual designs, including composition, layout information architecture, grid layouts and responsive/progressive design. Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, illustrations and other graphical assets. Experience working with variable data.

  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
