Director of Organizational & Employee Success [ID: 945]
Position Summary:

Leads a Human Resources team focused on college wide Professional Development and Performance Management Programs with the ultimate goal of achieving the HR Vision to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing employees and model the college’s values.

Responsible for designing, implementing and managing all Professional Development and Performance Management Programs initiatives and programs to meet the long term strategic vision and mission of the college while promoting a healthy organizational culture, enhancing employee experience, managing risk and protecting the college’s brand and reputation.

  • These programs include: Federal, State and Local Compliance, Departmental budget, Employee Communication, Employee Complaints and Investigations, Benefits & Wellness, Employee Training and Professional Development, Onboarding and Recruiting functions.
  • Reports to Executive Director of Human Resources
Compensation: $70,762.40 - $106,143.60

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field to assigned area, preferably in Human Resources, Adult Education, Organizational Development or Psychology is required
  • Certification as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM- Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or other advanced work highly desirable
  • Masters in HR, Business or Related field is preferred

Experience:

  • Ten (10) years of combined Human Resource Management, Professional Development, Operational Management, Adult Training/ Education and/or a Florida state agency experience, two of which must have been at the senior managerial level. *An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.
  • Must be a knowledgeable, skilled and experienced business professional, capable of analyzing challenges and formulating advice for senior leaders to consider and rely upon.
  • State or college work experience background preferred

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Position may require traveling to multiple campus locations for meetings.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Manages the goals and objectives of a team of Human Resources personnel who are providing services including employee relations programs and investigations, training and development program(s) development and implementation, performance management program(s) development and implementation, and ensures compliance with internal and external regulations. This includes relevant outsourced vendors or consultants.

Provides recommendations and analysis of human resource policies, practices, and work rules for employees, supervisors, and applicants.

Compiles, organizes, and analyzes a variety of data; tracks human resource metrics; creates reports; and recommends changes to policies, procedures, compensation, and/or benefit levels; maintains related records.

Recommends program changes, developing program plans, coordinating programs, implementing solutions, preparing annual projections, and recommending vendors.

Monitors and tracks departmental budget; approves transfers, invoices, purchase orders, and ensures compliance with objectives and goals.

Supervise staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting regular performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; recommending and advising staff on effective strategies to meet staffing and organizational goals; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
