Audio/Visual Services Coordinator [ID: 953]
Position Summary:

Typical Essential Duties

  • Coordinates scheduling of AV technical services for selected college video conferencing classes and special events.
  • Supervision and scheduling of AV technical support specialists when required.
  • Direct classroom support of staff faculty and students as it relates to utilization of video conferencing services and other functional aspects of a distance learning environment including facilitation of student-faculty communications and proctoring of remote exams.
  • Technical liaison between the college, college partners and outside companies.
  • Provides operational support for video/audio production systems, lecture capture, SPC TV broadcast technology, satellite/internet uplink-downlinks, CATV provider connectivity;
  • Assists with written specifications for bidding, purchasing, installation and/or repair of complete television transmission and distribution systems and equipment;
  • Facilitates and assists with development and dissemination of college wide AV standards;
  • Maintains computer software programs for AV engineering maintenance and equipment inventory records.

Incumbents design, operate and maintain studio and/or television, video conference, and related media.  Responsibilities may include designing video conference and other media services layouts; developing specifications for the purchase of equipment and services; installing and repairing equipment and systems; operating television transmission, production, editing, and distribution and satellite uplink/downlink systems; and maintains records of activities.

Compensation: $44,319.64 - $55,399.55

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in audio-video systems or related field preferred.

Experience:

Five (5) years’ experience operating and supporting multiple AV and/or TV broadcasting systems.

Three (3) years’ experience in customer service related duties.

One (1) year of supervisory.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements listed above.

  • Knowledge of television broadcast and distribution systems design and operation;
  • Knowledge of current video conferencing technologies.
  • Telecommunications, multi-media, and audio-visual equipment setup, usage, and troubleshooting;
  • Customer service principles;
  • Video production and editing techniques;
  • Video equipment repair techniques;
  • Recordkeeping principles;
  • Computers and related software applications.

Skills:

  • Planning and coordinating the distribution and scheduling of equipment and/or services;
  • Setting up, using, and troubleshooting telecommunications, multi-media, and/or audio-visual equipment;
  • Providing high level customer service;
  • Using a computer and related software applications;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with subordinates, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching,  reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Incumbents may be subjected to electrical currents.

License:

None required.
