Performance Audio Manager [ID: 963]
Position Summary:

This is a hands-on position directing the technical aspects of all events in a multi-use theater facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as Lead Audio Systems Technician (A1) to ensure high quality sound, support guest audio engineers and supervise the execution of lighting and sound designs.
  • Supervise use of sound, lighting and video equipment.
  • Perform safety checks on equipment and facilities ensuring safety guidelines are being met.
  • Coordinate the stage and equipment set up / tear down.
  • Oversee and maintain inventory on all equipment and expendables.
  • Design sound and lighting as required.
  • Coordinate the activities of subordinates.
  • Assist in determining staffing needs and scheduling for events.
  • Recommend purchase of new or replacement equipment.
  • Serve as manager on duty in the absence of other management representatives.

Incumbents support theatrical productions by coordinating the scheduling and production aspects of an assigned performance space. 

Compensation: $17.36 - $21.71

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with theater production.

Experience:

Minimum three (3) years professional entertainment industry experience with broad knowledge in sound, lighting, video, rigging and staging required.


Concert touring experience, demonstrated expertise mixing audio with large format digital and analog audio systems, experienced in large sound system design, installation and tuning, experienced audio crew chief, proficient using Waves, Lake, Smaart, Pro Tools.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.
  • Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, and intense noises.

Design and engineer concert and event productions which includes developing plans for sound engineering, installing, and utilizing sets, sound, lighting; and perform related duties.
