Senior Technical Lead [ID: 996]
Position Summary:

Typical Essential Duties

  • Contributes directly to the technical vision for the team;
  • Analyzes team projects and directs corrections for errors found;
  • Provides a technical interface between the team and management;
  • Enforces best practices and coding standards for the team;
  • Understands projects on all platforms and levels of detail;
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to junior team members;
  • Collaborates with the team, management, and users on project design;
  • Follows agile development practices and other industry standards;
  • Understands continuous integration and deployment principles;
  • Contributes to process improvement and automated testing;
  • Provides leadership to junior team members on code reviews.
  • Assist in developing ways to reduce the amount of incoming technical support requests.
  • Foster communication and collaboration with the development team and the business.

Incumbents are responsible for planning and implementing technical services operations including enterprise level applications, network infrastructure, telecommunications, technology support, help desk, and data center operations. Responsibilities include participating in the planning of college-wide systems, infrastructure and related technology items; managing daily project activities; participating in budget development and management; managing contracts/leases; and recommending policy and procedure modifications.

Compensation: $87,351.91 - $109,189.89

Requirements:

Education:

BS/BA in Computer Science or in a related field to assigned area. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

Six (6) years of experience in area of responsibility. Must have experience in server administration, access security, development environments, networks, application development (C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, etc.), and, SQL Server database administration, design, and development. Windows server and Azure cloud management is a huge plus.

  • Communicating technical information to a non-technical audience;
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with subordinates, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.

Physical:

  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Develops and monitors comprehensive project work plans; manages project scope, schedule and key metrics; allocates resources; troubleshoots project plans and implements solutions; evaluates project performance; and mitigates risks.
