Mrs. Azar-Capshaw is excited to teach at St. Petersburg College. She completed her Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at California State University, Fullerton in 2005. Prior to that, Mrs. Azar-Capshaw was active in the theatre as a director and an actress. She formerly received her Bachelor of Science double majoring in Theatre and English from Indiana State University, in her hometown of Terre Haute, Indiana.

Mrs. Azar-Capshaw has since been active in TESOL teaching at Hope International University, a private college in Fullerton, CA; Mt. San Antonio College, a community college in Walnut, CA; and Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI), an academic university in Indianapolis, IN.

Although Mrs. Azar-Capshaw has taught all levels of learners in every skill area for second language learning, she excels at using her drama skills with second language speakers, helping them to find better ways to listen, pronounce, speak and in general, to communicate.

Mrs. Azar-Capshaw’s role as a teacher is to allow her students to discover themselves in their new culture by forming opinions, believing in themselves, and taking risks. Her sense of personal achievement comes with influencing her students to be responsible, dedicated people who are committed to the task which they have taken on in second language learning.

Please feel free to communicate your needs as they arise.
