AST 1003  The Solar System credits: 3

This course is a study of earth as a planet, the moon, and the sun, measurement of time, eclipses, planets and their satellites, comets, meteors, and various theories of the origin of the solar system. Consideration will be given to the historical development of the science and the basic principles of mechanics as applied to astronomy. (Note: This course may not be taken for credit after receiving a grade of "C" or better in any course with an AST prefix.)

Prerequisite: ENC 0025 and REA 0017 and MAT 0028
