CTS 2321  Linux System Administration credits: 3

This course is designed to teach students the skills they need to effectively administer Linux servers. Students will plan, setup, and perform support tasks related to their individual Linux server. Major topics covered include files administration, processes, documentation, web based help resources, user accounts, secure shells and security procedures. Students will also configure, manage, troubleshoot, perform, create and maintain support tasks related to their individual Linux system to include printer management, TCP/IP parameters, network services, localization, and basic host security tasks.

Prerequisite: CTS 2106 with a minimum grade of C
