I am a former SPC graduate (way back in 1998 when it was still a Junior College) and a current doctoral candidate at the University of South Florida, Tampa. One might say that I am a lifelong learner. I obtained my undergrad degree from USF Tampa in 2003 and my Master's degree from USF Tampa in 2008.

I teach full time at Clearwater High School, where I've been since 2003 I've taught almost every class in the English department since then but have found my home for the last few years teaching the Cambridge English Language course as well as the dual enrollment class for Composition I and Composition II. Through this experience, I've been fortunate enough to teach both Composition 1 and Composition 2 on the SPC Clearwater campus since 2013.

My educational passion lies within the writing workshop environment. I believe working with other writers helps promote better writing, and ultimately, better learning. I've been a consultant with the Tampa National Writing Project since 2007, where we are committed to promoting best practices that enhance student writing and learning. In short, I find great value in learning the skills necessary to be a successful writer, regardless of your profession or academic pursuits. It is my belief that good writing is an essential component in the development of an exceptional student.

I have two children with my husband of 15 years and a chocolate lab/pitbull puppy named Harley Quinn. We are a comic book loving family (obviously - look at the dog's name). We are a family of readers and we are a family of writers. Although originally from Long Island, New York (you will most likely NOT hear an accent), I've called Florida home since 1996, but I do travel back to New York a couple times a year to visit friends and family.
