I was born and bred in the smallest state of the union, and received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Rhode Island College. My professional career in my home state led me to develop and teach creative writing and writing workshops at correctional facilities where my "students" wrote novels, published short stories, and developed screenplays that were bought by such luminaries as Oliver Stone.
I went on to teach high school English in McCormick High School and composition and philosophy at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, South Carolina. Following the sun, the next phase of my career brought me to Florida where I served as an Associate Professor at Schiller International University, and where I have also developed international programs and taught at three high schools.
I have taught as an adjunct instructor in English Composition at PHCC for the past four years, and absolutely enjoy working with the students, the staff, and my colleagues on the West Campus. In addition to teaching composition at PHCC, I will now serve as an adjunct instructor for dual enrolled students at Dunedin Academy. It is a privilege to be a part of St. Petersburg Colleg, and to continue my long association with an excellent independent school in Pinellas County.
