I have been a registered nurse since 1997. I began my career in 1992 where I was a medical assistant in a doctors office and put myself through college while working and raising 2 children (and being pregnant for my last two semesters of nursing school).
After graduation I began working on a step down cardiology unit where I worked for approx. 6 months. I filled in one night in the emergency/trauma room and never went back. I love trauma/critical care/emergency room nursing.
I worked in emergency rooms as adult/pedi trauma RN/charge nurse/assistant manager until October 2018 where I transitioned into a new type of nursing --- oncology. I now work at Moffitt Cancer Center in the radiation oncology unit and I learn something new every day.
I obtained my Masters in Nursing in 2015 and began working for SPC as an adjunct clinical faculty at that time. I absolutely LOVE education. My mindset is simply this.... you learn by doing! You will find that I volunteer you for many learning opportunities and skills throughout the semester. Mistakes are a good thing because that means you are at least doing the "action" to learn from.
I have 4 children and 3 grandchildren and a very old child - my husband. I love University of Michigan football and Detroit Lions Football and during the fall semester, I am a crazy football fan.
