Briefly, I was born in the city that has several dubious nicknames: `the mistake on the lake and the only city whose river caught fire, Cleveland, Ohio. I attended Kent State University. I spent a few years in Milwaukee, WI and relocated to Houston, TX where I attended the University of Houston and received my Bachelors degree in English and Journalism with a teaching certification. I taught high school journalism and photography and advised the yearbook and newspaper staffs until 1982 when I relocated to Memphis, TN. I attended the University of Memphis and received my Masters of Science in Personnel. In February 2005, I received my doctorate in Leadership and Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.
I was the hospital administrator for Germantown Parkway Animal Hospital in cordova, TN since 1996.GPAH is a certified AAHA facility and received the honor of Veterinary Practice of Excellence in 1998 from Veterinary Economics.GPAH is a four veterinarian practice with a support staff of 25.
In May 2005, I began as an adjunct instructor with SPC. I relocated to Florida in 2006 after accpting a full time faculty position as lead instructor for the Management track of our Veterinary Nursing program. In January 2018, I became Associate Dean for SPC's College of Veterinary Nursing, which I enjoyed immensly :). However, as we all should do in looking to find a balance in life and following our passion (I have a love of teaching and mentoring pracitce managers), I chose to step down and return to my full-time faculty position in the BAS program. I will be the faculty in charge for the program, so please reach out to me at any time with any questions or concerns you might have.
