I am currently in my 34th year as an Adjunct Professor in the natural Science Department at SPC. I joined the teaching staff in 1982 and have taught Oceanography, Earth Science, Introduction to Biology, Introduction to Biology Lab and Biological Issues. Currently, all of my courses are on line. I earned my AA degree from SPJC (now SPC), a Bachelor's in Zoology from Florida Southern College and my Master's from USF. My Doctorate is in Evolutionary Vertebrate Zoology but I have continued teaching because it is enjoyable and I have fun doing it.
I approach teaching the way I approach life - I always try to think of how I would feel on "the other side of the desk". I can very easily remember how it felt to be a student and I try to make life as easy as possible for my students. I can remember both negative and positive role models. I do maintain high standards, but I like my students to have fun reaching those lofty goals. ;-)
