Mrs Loretta Poling
While attending high school at Dunedin High School (C/O "94) I began pursuing my interest in a career in dentistry. While I was in my senior year, I began working for a small private practice dental office in Clearwater where I helped with front office duties. After graduating high school, I attended dental assisting school and became a certified dental assistant. I enjoyed the 10 years I spent as an assistant and the valuable hands-on experience I gained. During those 10 years I also completed my prerequisites for the dental hygiene program. Although it took several years to complete the courses, I did not let my busy work and personal life stop me. In 2005 I graduated SPC's Dental Hygiene Program, and in 2007 the BASDH program. It was in 2007 that I began working as an adjunct in the AS programs clinic here at SPC, while still working in a private practice office as well. I graduated from WGU with my Masters in Education in 2019 which allowed opporunities that brought me to a full time position in the BASDH prgram here at SPC. I am so proud to have graduated and be part of the faculty here at this college. The dental hygiene programs are filled with passionate, caring, and intelligent dental hygienists who produce top notch dental hygienists that make a true difference in our field. I believe that each student is deserving of the opportunity to shine and prove to themselves what they are capable of. It is my honor to be part of your journey!
