Welcome to my faculty profile!

It is a blessing and privilege of my life to work for St. Petersburg College and be your professor.

As a faculty of Political Science here at SPC for about eight years, my primary objective is to help you, the student, succeed in your academic endeavors and enhance your potential to improve the socio-economic well-being of your family and of society at large. I believe that teaching and learning begin by making you part of an all-inclusive team, understanding your needs, motivating critical thinking, and encouraging civic engagement in your community. I also believe that successful teaching and learning are based on mutual respect, care, professionalism, and vision to build a better future for you, the College, and our community. As such, teaching to me is not just a job. It is also a career, humane service, and mission.

In light of this sentiment, my favorite quote is that of Marcus Tullius Cicero: What nobler employment, or more valuable to the state, than that of the man who instructs the rising generation.

My education credentials include a Ph.D. degree in Government, International Relations, and a Master's degree in Political Science, Comparative Politics and International Relations, from University of South Florida. My field of expertise is U.S. foreign policy, with an emphasis on Middle Eastern politics.

In addition to my SPC experience, I have been teaching for about ten years international studies courses for University of South Florida. The list of courses includes Globalization, World Perspective, International Relations, Conflict in the World, International Wealth and Power, International Organizations, and the Middle East. I also taught American Government and Political Science courses at Hillsborough Community College from 2011 to 2016.

Moreover, I am the author of US Foreign Policy in the Middle East: The Case for Continuity, published by Palgrave Macmillan. https://www.amazon.com/Foreign-Policy-Middle-East-Continuity/dp/3319453262. What makes me very proud and the book unique is the fact that it has been endorsed by one of the greatest minds of International Relations, Professor John J. Mearcheimer, a R. Wendell Harrison Distinguished Service Professor of Political Science, University of Chicago.
