Dr. Carol Rasor-Cordero has more than 25 years of law enforcement experience with a large agency.  Retiring at the rank of Captain, Dr. Rasor worked in numerous diverse assignments during her career.  She served 15 years on the Hostage Negotiation Team and was appointed team leader.  She also was certified and taught firearms, driving and defensive tactics during her career.   Dr. Rasor has a Ph.D. in Education with a cognate area in Management, Master's degree in Criminal Justice and Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Florida.  She is also a proud graduate of St. Petersburg College receiving an Associate of Art degree.  Dr. Rasor has served as a national evaluator for the Bureau of Justice Assistance and works as a senior research associate for the Center for Public Safety Management in Washington, D.C. which is the technical provider for public safety for the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). Dr. Rasor-Cordero is active in the field of public safety and has provided technical support to more than twenty-five law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.  She is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP) at Boston University.

Dr. Rasor-Cordero believes that every student can achieve academic success.  She is the sole instructor of the Capstone Research Course which is the last course taken before graduation.  She loves working with students and mentoring their research.  If the thought of research makes you anxious, then Dr. Rasor-Cordero is the professor for you.  She will create a sense of calmness during your research project and you will be proud of your accomplishment.
