Coming from a diverse background and upbringing, Gabriel Yeager has pursued education as a lifelong learner. Despite his lack of formal public education and having only obtained his GED in 2010, he took a great interest in higher education. Perhaps it was after changing his declared major in undergraduate education on five different occasions that he came to the realization that he has a never ending thirst for knowledge.

Having pursued automotive technology, pharmacology, aviation and power plant management, and microbiology, he eventually fell in love with psychology. Once he recognized his passion, he remained on the Dean’s List until graduation and received special recognition.

Having been mentored at St. Petersburg College in psychology, he went on to the University of Central Florida where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Psychology focusing in Human Factors and Cognitive Learning. During his undergraduate pursuits, he worked in education and volunteered as a teaching assistant and research assistant in both Human Factors and Industrial Organizational Psychology. Some of the projects that he worked on included cross-cultural studies, optimism in the lifespan, meta-analyses of performance, emerging assistive technology, robotics, and NASA.

With a desire to share the enthusiasm that he holds for learning, he was awarded a Master of Arts in Instructional Design and Technology in eLearning with a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design for Simulation from the University of Central Florida in August of 2018. After the completion of this program, he took a two-year break from graduate studies to raise his newborn son, Orion. Now, he is presently applying to PhD programs in Cognitive Psychology.

Recently, he worked for St. Petersburg College under the American Apprenticeship  Initiative, developing new  talent pipelines in technology, healthcare, and manufacturing. Presently, he is a Career & Academic Advisor on the Tarpon Springs Campus. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor teaching basic computer literacy courses and advocate of the Neighborhoods for Success initative.

His ultimate goal is to conduct research on learning and developement for prolonged spaceflight to find innovative training solutions that will overcome the challenges of interplanetary and interstellar travel. As a result of this effort, Gabriel has launched his own LLC called Yeager Systems to provide training solutions in this context.

In addition to his life in education, he partners with community and national organizations such as The Planetary Society, Suncoast Animal League, and New World Celts.
